Wu-Tang Clan principal Raekwon will release a new album, "The Lex Diamond Story," Dec. 16 via Ice Water Entertainment/Universal. The set is the rapper's first solo effort since 1999's "Immobilarity," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has sold 420,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Lex Diamond" bulges with high-profile guest appearances. Fat Joe and Ghostface Killah bolster "Clientele Kidd," while "Ice Cream" sports appearance by Method Man and Cappadonna. "Planet of the Apes" features Capone and Sheek Louch, while first single "The Hood" features Tiffany Villarreal.
Tracks such as "Robbery" and "Wild in the Club" feature up-and-coming artists Raekwon has signed to Ice Water. Other guests on the album include Wu-Tang colleagues Masta Killa and Inspecta Deck.
Raekwon is expected to appear on the syndicated "Soul Train," MTV's "Direct Effect" and BET's "106th & Park" closer to the album's release.
