Method Man and Redman have been given the green-light for 13 episodes of their buddy comedy on Fox.
"You got two rappers, they're just starting to blow up," Method Man explains. "They bought this big-ass house and are having all these parties in it, and (then) what happens? One of the rapper's momma moves in."
The show, titled "Method & Red" revolves around the familiar adage "you can take the boys out the hood, but you can't take the hood out the boys." The comedy centers around the drama and culture-clash that ensues as these two rappers bring their wild and irreverent lifestyle to a predominantly white, affluent gated community in New Jersey.
"Method and Red are so passionate and focused on this show, and they are so much fun to watch," said one of the show's execs, Erin Berenson said. "They bring the party with them wherever they go."
The rap comedy project was put on the development fast track last year, and the pilot wrapped production late last month, a time when most comedy pilots are still in the casting stage.
No decision has been made on a premiere date for "Method & Red."
