For his upcoming western-samurai-exploitation-kung fu homage Kill Bill , writer/director Quentin Tarantino sought someone of similar interests to write the film's score. Who did he find?

Nope, not Lalo Schifrin or Ennio Morricone . Unlikely as it may seem, Quentin Tarentino has recruited RZA to compose the score. Tarantino apparently had RZA over to his pad for a kung fu movie marathon and the pair were simpatico on the subject.

RZA previously scored Jim Jarmusch 's Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai .

RZA, who will produce, is now working on some retro-styled scene-change themes (also known as "stabs") for the still-lensing film, and will be collaborating on the final score with Metallica skin-thumper Lars Ulrich for some unknown reason.
